WoW: With Amazon Prime you now get a really dark transmog – this is how you get it

A new transmog helmet in World of Warcraft has been unlocked for Amazon Prime customers. We’ll show you how to get it.

Blizzard entered into a partnership with Amazon quite a while ago, which is now leading to a series of promotions. In conjunction with the Prime Gaming service, World of Warcraft players can now unlock special bonuses, including a very special helmet for transmogrification. Long-time players should already be familiar with the helmet, because it used to be available for purchase…

What are these transmog items? These are special helmets that you can unlock for transmogrification. The helmets have no stats, they are purely cosmetic. A few years ago you could buy these helmets in the in-game shop, now they are – at least currently – only available through this promotion. These are:

• Jewel of the Firelord (already expired)
• Hood of Ravenous Darkness (Now Active)
• Crown of Eternal Winter (Coming)

How to redeem the helmet? That’s pretty simple. You only have to do that Prime Gaming website and make sure you have linked your Amazon account to the Blizzard account. Once done, click on “Game Content” and scroll down to “World of Warcraft”. There you should see the helmets and click on the entry for Hood of Greedy Darkness to finally redeem the item. This is still possible until August 22nd, then this transmog helmet will also rotate out.

Incidentally, the items are only for the “Retail” version of World of Warcraft and not for Classic.

When will the other helmets be available? If you only find out about the campaign now, it’s already too late for one of the three helmets. The Jewel of the Firelord is no longer available, the promotion has already ended. However, the Crown of Eternal Winter is still on the agenda and you can secure it from August 24th. When the time comes, we will report about it again here on MeinMMO.

Whether these helmets will be available in a different way in the future is questionable. It could be a few years before there’s a chance to get these transmog items again.
