New World gets its biggest update since release today – “This is the patch of the year”

Summer Medleyfaire Big Update arrives in New World today, July 28th. This is the biggest update since the MMORPG was released in September 2021. We at MeinMMO summarize everything for you.

What’s happening in New World? Coming to New World on July 28th is the Summer Medleyfaire Update, bringing improvements that will please almost any type of player. It’s the MMORPG’s biggest update since release.

While the patch brings a number of Quality of Life improvements, it also has some real highlights. Among other things, the new expedition barnacles and black powder, which will only be activated a week after the update.

You will then find the entrance to the new expedition in Harvest Knife Reef, where there will also be enough new tasks for it. 2 weeks after the Expedition is released, it will then “mutate” and bring with it 3 new mutations. The new expedition is at the heart of the major update.

What are the highlights? Apart from the expedition, everything else is available in the game immediately after the update, including a few real highlights:

• The big and eponymous summer medley fair event, with many rewards and tasks. We have already created a guide to the event for you.
• 5 different musical instruments with which you can play a total of 31 songs. These songs bring you gameplay buffs like less stress, more collecting luck or more area reputation.

• A group search tool for the expeditions and also the tuning balls have been removed and replaced with time limits.
• War now takes place on its own instances and does not further burden the servers.
• You now get more loot and can find more things when dismantling items.
• Significant reduction in XP required for many professions and gathering tasks.

Community celebrates the update and brings back old players

Here’s how the community is reacting: In the New World subreddit, the new update is of course one of the biggest topics of recent times. Several posts about it collected over 100 comments, even though the subreddit was almost extinct.

There, players are cheering for the new update and even many people who actually already gave up the MMORPG announced their return to Aeternum. The changes to the expeditions in particular are really well received. The group finder tool and picking up the mood orbs will keep the threads happy.

But the musical instruments, the new expedition itself and the reduced EP costs for improving professions are also having an impact on users. You won’t find any negative words about the summer update.
