Report shows: Diablo Immortal collects 100 million euros via mobile – Only a big brand was faster

Diablo Immortal is controversial, torn up in tests that demonizes Pay2Win. But money is also diligently spent in the game. A report now shows that the controversial title has already generated more than $100 million in mobile revenue – only a major mobile adaptation of a well-known video game can top that so far.

After the release, Diablo Immortal needed a secure footing so as not to be blown over by the headwind of the press and many players. When it turned out that the first impression of the Pay2Win mechanics from the beta was correct, the outcry was great.

But that couldn’t harm the mobile implementation of the popular action RPG series Diablo. Diablo Immortal is a top hit for developers Blizzard and NetEase. A report by the big data site “SensorTower” now shows how violent the hit is (via sensortower.com).

Diablo Immortal was able to generate 100,000,000 US dollars in 8 weeks. Since the euro and dollar are currently almost par (July 28, 2022), that’s around 100 million euros.

The Diablo Immortal Pay2Win discussion focuses specifically on the Legendary Gems. More about the controversial items can be found in the video:

The report from SensorTower allows you to look even deeper and classifies the high numbers a little.

First, this is revenue from the mobile version of Diablo Immortal on iOS and Android only – purchases made through the PC beta are not included. So there should still be a good shovel of coal on top of the total income.

Diablo Immortal is torn apart – but it is a financial success for Blizzard, especially in Germany

In addition, Diablo Immortal has ranked 13th among all mobile games in terms of revenue since release. That’s enough for 4th place in mobile RPGs and 2nd place in mobile MMORPGs.

Diablo achieves the highest revenue in the USA, followed by South Korea and then Japan. 59% of revenue came from Apple’s App Store, 41% from the Google Play Store.

Then SensorTower reveals another exciting fact: Diablo Immortal was able to reach the $100 million mark faster than any other mobile adaptation of a well-known video game series. So it’s number 2 in the $100 million big gaming brands race.

In first place by far is a game that we also know very well on MeinMMO: Pokémon GO. For the worldwide release hype of 2016, the mobile implementation of the monster hunt only needed 2 weeks to bring in 100 million dollars.
