Destiny 2: The Season 18 Raid starts on August 26, 2022
The Bungie developers are not revealing which raid will be taken from Destiny’s content vault to provide new loot and new adventures in season 18. But at least we now know when the World First race will start, namely on August 26, 2022. As with the legacy raid Glass Chamber, certain rules will be activated.
The second raid of the Destiny 2 expansion The Witch Queen will, unsurprisingly, be a legacy raid from Destiny. Exactly what that will be is not known. Bungie’s developers have three choices: Crota’s End, King’s Fall, and Wrath of the Machine. Given the subject matter of The Witch Queen and her connections to the Hive and the Taken, either Crota’s End or Oryx Raid King’s Fall would be the hot candidates.
In the meantime, however, almost every fan of Destiny 2 (buy now €19.50) sure we’ll get another chance to travel aboard Oryx’s Dreadnought Dreadnought and blast the Taken King into orbit. But that’s not confirmed, because the The official reveal of the raid will not be available until August 23, 2022 for the developers’ Destiny 2 live stream. But we know when the raid for World First Raiders and Normalo Guardians will open its doors!
Legacy Raid World First Race special rules
The new raid will open on August 26, 2022 at 19:00 GMT. Because this is a raid that already existed, many tactics for the boss fights are of course known. However, it can be assumed that there will be adjustments, as was the case with the Chamber of Glass. Even so, the World First Race is subject to a few rules so that veterans don’t have too much of an advantage:
- The raid’s contest mode will be open for 24 hours and you need at least power level 1560 to reach the cap for all battles.
- Playing through Contest Mode is the first step in unlocking the new Challenge Mode, as well as unlocking the special Triumph for completing all Challenge Triumphs for each battle in the Raid.
- Completing the Secret Triumph requires completing a list of challenges in Challenge Mode. Whoever does this first gets the World First Kill.
- If you don’t meet the Secret Triumph requirements during a fight, the party will be automatically wiped.
The Challenge Mode and Secret Triumph will only be available for the first 24 hours, so hurry if completing this mode is on your bucket list. The first Fireteam to do so will be declared a World First winner – if they pass the Bungie Team’s review. If all goes well, the last six members of the winning team will be awarded the coveted belts for their performance.
