Forbidden love in the “Sims”: A free update apparently provokes incestuous romances among the residents of the “life simulation”. Developer EA is aware of the problem and has promised a solution.
EA had given its game “The Sims 4” a major update earlier this week, which, in addition to curved walls and body hair, also brought new fears and desires into the world of “Sims”. However, the publisher may not have expected some wishes: As “Kotaku” reports, after the release of the update, complaints from players whose “Sims” wanted to enter into incestuous relationships increased. For example, one player published a screenshot on Reddit that shows that an elderly woman suddenly wanted to start a romance with her own son. Another player reported on EA’s support forums that one of his male “Sims” asked his twin sister to be his girlfriend. An Xbox player described in the same place that a daughter wanted to date her father in the game. EA promises a bug fixEA is aware of the problem and has now promised a bug fix. “Just wanted to confirm that wanting to date a family member is something we’re aware of,” a developer shared via Twitter. They were able to reproduce the error themselves and are trying to fix it as soon as possible. Rapid aging The same applies to another, albeit more harmless bug, which is currently causing some “Sims” to age from babies to old people within a few minutes. To avoid this aging bug, players should choose the Normal Lifespan option until it’s fixed, EA recommended.
