More info on the specs of the Motorola Razr 2022 leaked

Shortly before the launch of the Motorola Razr 2022 on August 2nd, more details about the hardware of the foldable became known. Motorola itself published information about the smartphone’s processor and battery. The Chinese certification authority TENAA revealed further details about the dimensions, display, RAM and internal storage of the foldable.

On the Chinese Weibo social media platform (via Android Authority) Motorola recently refuted the rumors about the processor of the Razr 2022. The rumors said that the foldable will allegedly be launched with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. However, Motorola has now announced that the slightly faster successor, the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, will be used. The company also revealed the battery capacity of the foldable. This is 3,500 mAh. That’s 200 mAh more than the Galaxy Z Flip3.

Razr 2022 could come with up to 18GB of RAM

In addition to the official information from Motorola, there are other details about the Razr 2022 from the Chinese certification authority TENAA came to light. However, Android Authority points out that some of the information may not necessarily be correct as it could be a placeholder.

According to the TENAA data sheet, the Razr 2022 has a 6.67-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution. The external display also uses OLED technology, is 2.65 inches in size and is said to offer a resolution of 800 x 573 pixels. The different RAM configurations are a little surprising. According to the data sheet, there should be three variants with 8 GB, 12 GB and 18 GB. However, the latter variant seems oversized for a foldable device.

Internal storage options will be 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. The Razr 2022 is said to be 167mm x 79.79mm x 7.62mm and weighs 200 grams. We will find out whether the specs are actually correct by August 2nd at the latest, when the Razr 2022 will be presented together with the 200-megapixel Motorola X30 Pro smartphone.
