Ashes of Creation: Sandbox MMORPG shows off its beautiful graphics in new trailer – Start more tests soon

The long-awaited MMORPG Ashes of Creation announces the second alpha, after the first was heavily criticized in spring 2021. Now the developers are trying again and also show a new biome in the trailer: A desert.

Ashes of Creation is a fantasy sandbox MMORPG developed by Intrepid Studios. They originally announced it for 2019, but the release was pushed back a long time.

The first alpha began in 2021, but met with a lot of criticism. Not enough options in the character editor, quests that seem generic, a world that is too small, announced content was missing. The animations also looked very raw.

Developers lure with new trailer

The developers probably want to show with the current trailer how much they have improved. The video shows a character riding a large snail through the desert. The landscape is very detailed. Roaming animals are also shown.

The animations are fluid here, the world is huge, and the graphics are impressive. Presumably, Intrepid Studios want to motivate new or returning testers for the Alpha 2.

For the Alpha 2, the developers promised significant improvements to the first tests. For example, the map should be larger and cover 220km². They explain further innovations in their own wiki. They sometimes promise naval content, i.e. content in and on the sea.

This time the test is supposed to be persistent, so the servers stay online day and night until the final start of the MMORPG.

Who can participate in Alpha 2? Only those who purchase the Voyager pre-order pack or the better version of it can participate. The fun costs 250 and 375 dollars respectively. A few streamers will probably also be invited to Alpha 2 so that the MMORPG gains popularity. For example, the well-known streamer Asmongold took part in the first test.

As in the first alpha, almost 10,000 players can try out Ashes of Creation. The developers should announce when exactly the test will start in a timely manner.

Ashes of Creation as a great MMORPG hope

What is the game? The MMORPG leaves the world to the players and relies on a so-called node system. These are locations that can be conquered, upgraded and defended. Each node has a zone that it influences.

In Ashes of Creation, the entire game world is divided into zones, each with a city. A city begins as a small collection of tents and grows over time through player influence. To do this, they must complete quests throughout the zone. However, players can attack and conquer your city.

Intrepid Studios thus deliver exciting PvP content, but also want to appeal to PvE fans.

When is the game out? There is still no date for the full release. From the Ashes of Creation wiki we can only gather that after Alpha 2 there will be Beta 1 and Beta 2. With the upcoming tests, there is growing hope that the release will be announced soon.
