DrDisrespect Reveals 1st Gameplay of Its AAA Shooter – Promises “New Era of Competitive Multiplayer”
Deadrop will be a new first-person shooter with NFT elements, using battle royale and extraction shooter gameplay elements. One of the founders of the developer studio is YouTube star DrDisrespect, Twitch’s nemesis. We show you what the project has to offer on MeinMMO.
Gaming influencer and YouTube star DrDisrespect is known for his big mouth. Now the fictional character apparently wants to prove that there is something behind it.
The Doc’s real name is Guy Beahm, he was a former developer and map designer at Call of Duty and is now also one of the co-founders of the development studio “Midnight Society”.
As a studio, you want to break new ground in publishing and involve the community in the development. The first-person shooter “Deadrop”, which is partly financed by controversial NFTs, is in the spotlight as a pilot project.

Deadrop: Doomsday battle royale and extraction shooter
What kind of game is this? Deadrop is a battle royale shooter like Call of Duty: Warzone or Fortnite, but mixes elements of extraction shooters into the formula and uses gameplay from Escape from Tarkov or Hunt: Showdown.
The developers call the shooter a “vertical extraction shooter” that is created entirely in the Unreal Engine 5.
All details are not yet known. YouTube star DrDisrespect is one of the co-founders of the development studio, but has already revealed a lot about the gameplay in his streams.
A match starts at the bottom of a tower and a fire or something like that keeps you pushing all the time to keep moving up the tower. However, you only get one floor higher if enough enemies have been killed on the current level.
Extraction is then possible at the top of the tower. You can be picked up with your loot.
It is currently not possible to say how many things are lost in a death. Neither does what the progress looks like outside of the matches.

The first gameplay scenes from Deadrop are now available. You can see a little gunplay, an impression of the gloomy world and a look at the “hideout”, the hiding place of the player, including the shooting range.

What is the story? Deadrop is set in a dystopian world.
The earth is polluted, societies have been destroyed and cities have built huge refineries that pull toxins from the stratosphere to make at least small areas of the earth habitable. The towers are considered self-governing states.
These towers also use the extracted toxins from the atmosphere to create a drug, Space Dust. The sale is considered extremely lucrative, resulting in constant battles for control of the towers.
Players who fight their way through the towers from the bottom to the top get into such a fight.
What’s the deal with the NFTs? NFTs should play a role, but not give any advantages in the matches. The NFTs in the game are said to be purely visual items.
Deadrop: Release, Studio, Dr Disrespect
When is Deadrop coming out? There is no release date yet and it will probably be a long time before the game comes out.
What is there to know about the studio? Midnight Society is made up of many developers who have previous experience in the industry.
Quinn Delhoyo, who is also a co-founder, is on board as creative director. He was the lead sandbox designer on Halo: Infinite and brings 14 years of experience at a AAA studio.
Studio Head is Robert Bowling, also co-founder with 15 years of experience at AAA studios, including Call of Duty (via midnightsociety.com).

How do you intend to usher in a “New Era of Competitive Multiplayer”? The developers place a special focus on involving the community in the development. One would like to “turn the traditional development process on its head”.
Instead of working in an environment that is completely cut off from the players, you want to work together with the community and your future players from “Day 0” and not hope that your own vision is enough to have a good game in the end.
You set yourself an AAA standard from the start and want to deliver at the highest level.
What does DrDisrespect have to do with it? The funky YouTube star is one of the studio’s co-founders and brings his reach and ideas to the table.
How deeply the Doc is involved in the development cannot be said with certainty. He has often emphasized that he is very close to the game and that many of his ideas went into the concept.
