Tomb Raider (Movie): New Reboot; Alicia Vikander no longer plays Lara Croft

Anyone hoping to see Alicia Vikander play Lara Croft a second time will be disappointed. The previous shareholder MGM has lost the rights to “Tomb Raider”.

MGM still had the chance to secure the sequel until May 2022, but missed the deadline. A total of three “Tomb Raider” films were made under MGM.

The rights are currently with the production company Gk Films and howThe Wrap reported, a competition for the rights of the IP has now started. Alicia Vikander is no longer part of the project and the new film will be a reboot again.
