A new leak too FIFA 23 claims there could be fewer icon cards in the latest installment of the series. The reason for this are downgrades of some legends.

In FIFA Ultimate Team there has been the problem of too many icons for years, which after a certain time can no longer keep up with the ever-growing special cards.

Now a leak shows that EA could finally tackle the problem. But a little different than you might think. You would probably rather weaken the icon cards instead of bringing more strong icons.

What is this leak? The well-known FUT leaker Fut Sheriff has a leak (via Twitter) claiming that certain Icon cards in FUT 23 could be downgraded to Hero cards.

This would mean that there would be fewer icons and the demoted players would only have one hero card in play instead of the previous three icon cards.

The FUT Heroes are a kind of “Icon Light”. Really strong players of the past, who became fan favorites, should be shown here. The cards also have exceptional chemistry attributes, but they only match cards of the same league.

What impact would that have? Even if the supposed downgrades are not good news for the affected stars, the downgrades could have positive effects for FUT players.

Because many icons in recent years, despite well-known names and good stats, were simply not good enough.

Now if they become hero cards they would be more affordable and FUT players opening an icon pack would no longer have to worry about pulling one of the very weak icons.

Icon cards that could become FUT Heroes

These icons could become heroes: In addition to Jay-Jay Okocha, Fut Sheriff also speaks of a downgrade for former Japanese offensive star Hidetoshi Nakata (via Twitter). This was always a felt rivet for many FUT players when it was pulled.
