A new rumor about Dead Island 2, which has been in development for ages, is currently doing the rounds. According to sources familiar with the plans surrounding the zombie action game, the title is likely to be revealed again later this year. At least that’s what the well-known leaker Tom Henderson reports on the website TryHardGuides.

While no specific date has been set for the reveal of Dead Island 2 mentioned, but the source is said to have communicated that the reveal at the Game Awards later this year would make “very sense”. The sequel is expected to have a big emphasis on cooperative play. It has also been hinted that the cast will be all new and five to six new characters will be coming to the game.

Tom Henderson also reiterates in his report that he has been contacted by several new sources, backing up claims that the game is in a decent stage of development. According to a source who is said to have played the game, “it’s probably my most anticipated game after playing it”. According to the jellyfish, Dead Island 2 will also take place in several different locations, including Hollywood in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Publisher Deep Silver and parent company Embrace Group previously said in a financial call that they “at least expect the release…in the next financial year”.
