Frontier is releasing a new Behind the Scenes episode of F1 Manager 2022, which can be viewed here.

Frontier Developments plc unveils the latest behind the scenes video of F1 Manager 2022, the new officially licensed F1 management simulation game. F1 Manager 2022 will be released on August 30th (August 25th for pre-orders) for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Steam and the Epic Games Store.

In “Episode 3 – Sounds of the Track”, budding Team Principals learn more about the outstanding audio features of F1 Manager 2022 from Senior Dialogue Designer Robbie Mann and experts from Frontier’s audio department.

The key to any Formula 1 race weekend is the soundtrack, from the roar of the engines to the ‘pop’ of gear changes to the rumble of the pre-race grid. In F1 Manager 2022, these sounds have been adapted from real F1 races and let fans immerse themselves in the F1 broadcast experience along with a choice of on-board and trackside cameras.

Thanks to innovative sound technology, players can hear how their car reacts to every corner, curb and bump, with audible differences reflecting the position of the camera, the car in focus and even the gear selected in that corner.

This realism-focused approach to sound design also incorporates environmental factors such as weather and spectator position to fully reproduce the sounds of an F1 racing weekend across all twenty-two circuits of the 2022 calendar.

To further increase authenticity, players will hear the voices of all twenty drivers from the 2022 Formula 1 season, reacting directly to their race engineers. In the role of Team Principal, the player uses data from the race to influence his decisions, using the Driver Command Panel to direct each driver’s race engineers.

The drivers also report important events via radio, celebrate a race result or curse their own mistakes. Official F1 team radio has been used to generate sound to ensure every interaction is realistic.

Finally, Sky Sports F1 commentators David Croft and Karun Chandhok welcome fans to the recording studio to show how they have brought their signature commentary style to F1 Manager 2022. Team Principals will hear their voices in cinematic sequences at the beginning and end of each weekend, as well as in optional in-game replays highlighting key racing events.
