Hooked on You: Dead by Daylight dating sim hits Steam
Actually, Dead by Daylight is about naked survival horror, but Hooked on You, as an offshoot, turns it into a grotesque romantic adventure with a morbid wit.
Developer Behavior Interactive’s Dead by Daylight was released in 2016 as a more serious multiplayer cat-and-mouse game for one killer and four (ideally) surviving players, leading to the recently released Hooked on You: A Dead by Daylight Dating Sim. in the style of typical dating adventures with comic garb. In the case of the offshoot, however, Behavior Interactive only acts as a publisher, while the development comes from the rather unknown studio Psyop.
In this less serious dating sim, players awaken on a dreamlike “killer island” with no memory and must, in addition to exploring their own existence, charm four love-hungry “dead by daylight” killers with dialogue and mini-games. But according to the description, the four different contenders for love, friendship or a violent death are as passionate as they are violent and can therefore quickly turn the players’ beguiling dream into a nightmare. The unusual and humorous dating adventure has been well received on Steam since it was released on August 3: In over 1,000 reviews, there is currently 90 percent approval from the players, which corresponds to the rating as “very positive”, with the humor above all of the game is praised.
