For many years, the asymmetrical multiplayer game has been flocking Dead by Daylight a loyal fanbase. Developer Behavior Interactive has also taken care of the title since its release in 2016, but now they want to venture into new realms. With Meet Your Maker the studio has now presented its new game, which goes in a completely different direction in terms of both gameplay and setting.

Roughly speaking, Meet Your Maker can be described as a mixture of tower defense, first-person shooter and crafting game. You build large towers, so-called outposts, and have to defend them from invaders – or infiltrate them. Your goal is to capture a special resource or to protect it from being stolen.

As you build your outpost, you have numerous tools, traps, and even creatures at your disposal to fend off the attackers. Spikes, explosive bullets, nasty mutants, pitfalls and much more will help the invaders face their creator. On the other hand, if you want to steal from another player, then you need quick reflexes to avoid all dangers. The more resources you loot, the more options you have when building outposts. In the shelter you can easily tinker with new death traps.

Behavior came up with a post-apocalyptic world for the scenario, which in some places resembles the Warhammer 40,000-Universe remembered. Joe DermoLead Narrative Designer of Meet Your Maker, describes the backstory as follows:

Humanity has been on the brink of extinction since a genetic disease swept the globe hundreds of years ago. Desperate nations wage wars over resources, rebellions erupt and societies crumble. But of course, humanity as a whole did not simply surrender. There was a time when various geniuses around the world had proposed shelters—advanced research labs around the world that could work independently and cooperatively on measures to save the world. One such initiative was the Chimera Project, which would create hybrid humans by filtering the distilled undamaged genetic material from those who appeared immune to the disease.

But as always, something went horribly wrong with the project.

Meet Your Maker is scheduled for release in 2023 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
