WoW: Developers explain why the Nathria bosses have more health
Bosses in Shadowlands Season 4 Mythic Destiny Raid Castle Nathria have a surprising 15 percent health increase over their previous levels. Now the developers have commented on this change and explained how the buff came about.
The fourth season of WoW: Shadowlands has started and brings with it some innovations in terms of dungeons and raids. Raids will rotate weekly at the beginning of this season and will become Destiny. This means: the level of difficulty increases, but you also get better rewards. However, the fact that all opponents in Castle Nathria have received 15 percent more health has caused some confusion among fans.
Health buff was not intended, but remains
Because the health buff didn’t dive into the official patch notes or Blizzard’s details of the Shadowlands Season 4 Terms and Conditions. It was therefore initially unclear whether the buff was an intended adjustment or a bug.
But the WoW team has now commented on this in an official blue post and writes (translated by us):
“As we reviewed this and other issues [Anm. d. Red.: Die Rede ist von einem Bug bei der Skalierung von Zaubern im Raid ], players noticed that our hotfix came at the same time as boss health increased. We’ve double-checked this and it appears that the spell scaling issue was also causing enemy health to be displayed incorrectly. The same fix that fixed the issue with player abilities like Blade Flurry and boss abilities like Soul Spikes not working properly also fixed the enemy health display issue.
After carefully examining the logs of raids before and after the fix, we have concluded that the effective fight time and the raid difficulty level have remained unchanged.”
Accordingly, the developers will not be reverting the health buff for the trash mobs and bosses in Castle Nathria. The bosses accordingly have between 6 and 8 million additional health points, while the developers apparently assume that the adjustments to spell scaling will compensate for this buff.
