WoW WotLK Classic: Can you level faster in TBC content from pre-patch?
Apparently, with the pre-patch for WoW: Wrath of the Lich King Classic, the Blizzard developers are reducing the experience points you need to level up between level 60 and 70 by about 30 percent.
A few days ago we already summarized you in a special, which ones Changes and additions with the pre-launch phase of WoW: Wrath of the Lich King Classic likely to go live. Now he reports Youtuber KaghoeGaming about a surprising adjustment that isn’t on our list: is Blizzard reducing the XP you need to level up in Outland with the WotLK Classic pre-patch?
Faster through Outland?
In the video linked above, Kaghoe shows a table in which the calculated XP values for level increases between level 60 and 70 are listed. What is striking: Significantly fewer experience points are required, especially for the first level ups in Outland, than is currently the case on the TBC Classic servers. According to the table, we have to collect about 30 percent fewer experience points over the entire Outland.
Kaghoe’s conclusion is therefore very clear: If you want to level up as efficiently as possible through the TBC content, wait for the pre-launch phase of WotLK Classic despite the currently active XP buff. However, we want to highlight the spoilsport at this point and throw in a detail that was not mentioned in KaghoeGaming’s video.
Is this part of #somechanges?
If we look through the whole WotLK era patch notes, we don’t find a single change to the leveling experience in Outland. Also the Website Wowpedia has not documented such an adjustment. For the first time, the values were Patch 4.0.3 customized: “Experience required to gain levels 71 through 80 has been reduced by 20%, which increases leveling rate by 25%.“Then there was another adjustment Patch 4.3: “The amount of experience needed to gain levels 71 through 80 has been reduced by approximately 33%.“
So both changes only came into play after patch 3.3.5, which serves as the basis for WotLK Classic. If Blizzard implements such a change with the pre-patch of the upcoming Classic expansion, it will only be because of the developers’ #somechanges mindset. So far, however, nothing has been officially confirmed. So it could also be an adjustment for the currently running beta test. Or a bug that will eventually be fixed. As soon as Blizzard comments on this topic, we will update this message.
