House of the Dragon: Too Many Sex Scenes, Lead Actor Says

Slowly but surely they could game of Thrones-Fans are a bit starved: The final season of the series, which many hate, is quite a while ago and George RR Martin is busy writing Winds of Winter in his quiet little room, but a release of the next book does not seem to be in sight yet.

Luckily there is from August 21st finally new fodder from the fantasy epic in the form of the prequel spin-off House of the Dragon. When it first premiered, the first episode of the series was able to excite critics and evoke words like “fantastic” and “epic”. Main actor Matt Smith is also satisfied with the series, but still has something to complain about.

In an interview with the magazine Rolling Stone revealed the actor known to many as Doctor Who’s 11th Doctor and now the prince in House of the Dragon Demon Targaryen plays that in his opinion one puts too much on bare skin. When asked, he said it was “too many” sex scenes in the series and one should rather represent the books more strongly:

“You’re like, ‘Do we need another sex scene? And they’re like, ‘Yes, we do.’ I guess you have to be like, ‘What are you doing there? Are you representing the books or are you watering down the books to represent the time , [in der wir leben]?
