The already quite aged online role-playing game The Lord of the Rings Online still clings like a sloth to the current MMO landscape and is similar to World of Warcraft still popular with players. They still prove that decent player numbers.

It has been known for a long time that the makers of the MMO Plan revisions to the game, such as an extensive graphics update, a modern user interface and numerous other small improvements. But for almost a year, this announcement has been very quiet and some fans wondered if they would come at all.

Well it was recently released by the executive producer Rob “Severlin” Ciccolini confirmed during a community livestream that these revisions are already in development and are even more comprehensive than initially stated.

Not only is an advanced graphic and user interface being worked on, but there should also be new ways of creating characters and an alternative level experience up to level 30 with its own story. A “Delfing” system makes it possible to increase the level of difficulty of missions. Many other numerous changes such as a 64-bit server, lag improvements, multifactor authentication and an “overflow server” to better channel large numbers of players have also been addressed.

The endgame is also being expanded, which according to Severlin has been neglected too much in recent times. A new region is currently under development in Eriador, which will be of a similar scope to the expansion The War of the Three Peaks should have. A new six-player raid instance and a new skirmish are also in the works.

In order to enable and implement the whole thing, not only the development team should be enlarged, but also the customer service staff should be increased in order to reduce the sometimes very long processing time of requests or tickets in the game.

Last but not least, Severin has a big new announcement about The Lord Rings Online for the upcoming Devcom 2022 announced, which will take place from August 22nd to 26th in Cologne. You can watch the complete live stream with Severin following this news.
