This year, Apple could start the September event earlier than expected. The company is apparently already preparing to record the virtual presentation. The Californians will probably show the iPhone 14 and the Apple Watch Series 8 there, including a special model for extreme athletes.

Like Bloomberg journalist and Apple connoisseur Mark Gurman in his Power On Newsletter reported (via Macrumors), Apple is in the middle of preparations for the September event. According to his information, the recordings for the virtual event should already have started – and it should take place on September 6th.

iPhone 14 already available on September 16?

Apple traditionally unveils new iPhones on the first or second Tuesday in September. The first Tuesday in September falls on the sixth day of the month this year. However, Monday, September 5, is Labor Day in the US, and Apple usually doesn’t hold a launch event if there’s a long weekend beforehand, reports phone arena. This year, however, Apple could break this unwritten rule, at least believes the well-informed leaker Max Weinbach.

Like Gurman, Weinbach also has information that points to a launch event on September 6th. The leaker also reveals that the iPhone 14 could be launched on September 16th. He is not 100 percent sure, but he thinks the time window should fit.

Is the Apple Watch coming for extreme athletes?

In addition to the iPhone 14, Apple is also said to be introducing the Watch Series 8, Watch SE and a previously unconfirmed Apple Watch for extreme athletes. The new model is rumored to be called the Apple Watch Pro and is aimed at users who “would otherwise get a high-end sports watch from Garmin for intensive workouts”. However, the new smartwatch could be quite expensive. It is said to cost between $900 and $1,000.
