Super Punch-Out: Two-player hidden mode discovered after 28 years
Sometimes it takes a long time to discover hidden things in games.
Like now with Nintendo’s Super Punch-Out, released for the SNES in 1994. In it there is a hidden two-player mode.
Play in pairs
It was discovered by the Twitter account Unlisted Cheats. Unlocking isn’t overly complex either, and doesn’t require any mods or hacks.
On the home screen, hold down Y and R on the second player’s controller, then press Start or A on the first player’s controller.
You then select the boxer for player two and have the second player hold B and Y on the controller until the match begins.
If you want to test it with the original hardware and cartridge, you can do so directly. Alternatively, the whole thing also works with the version of Super Punch-Out available on Nintendo Switch Online.
At the title, hold Y+R, then press A or START. Following screen will appear instead or regular menus. Here you can select any character to fight a free single match. See, even fighters from SPECIAL CIRCUIT are available here. -> pic.twitter.com/Hh7AtPdTcK
