Nothing concrete on the GPU release: Intel about LAN parties in the truck and chrome accents

Meanwhile, Intel is presenting new graphics cards again. But not the GPUs of the main Arc Alchemist line-up, but other models for professional applications. Intel used the Siggraph 2022 to present the Arc Pro A40 and A50 desktop cards and the A30M mobile solution. The chip manufacturer then published a new report on its website, in which Intel’s Senior Director of Graphics and HPC Marketing, Ryan Shrout, has his say and reports on the Arc GPUs, which are actually now also to be released in the western world.

New report from Intel with little concrete

But if you were expecting concrete data on specifications, prices or a release date, you will be bitterly disappointed, because the conversation with Ryan Shrout is only superficial. There is at least one new rendering of the Arc A770 Limited Edition. Intel also had something to say about the release, but only that the new Arc Alchemist graphics cards will be released later this year and will be available at retailers and PC manufacturers, as well as through Intel’s own store.

“Intel Arc GPUs are slated for release later this year, with what Ryan explained as ‘many game-on driver updates, with launch-day support for the biggest titles and ongoing improvements for older games as well’. Learn more about Intel Arc graphics visit arc.intel.com, Ryan’s Twitter, or Intel Insiders Discord. When available, Intel Arc cards can be purchased from various retailers and PC manufacturers worldwide, as well as directly from the Intel Store.”

Intel also wants to bring its graphics cards onto the streets and organize the “ultimate LAN party”. To do this, the company is sending a truck in North America that will be equipped with 30 NUC-12 Extreme systems, each of which is said to be filled with Arc A770 flagships.

Ultimately, the Arc A750 and 770 will also differ in design:

“[Diese Karten] are finished in a sleek matte black, with a full cosmetic backplate, and even minor details like the I/O bracket are matte black for a cohesive look. The more powerful A770 has chrome accents around the outside and top for added shine. When the cards are powered on, the edge and fan ducts distribute addressable RGB LEDs for an even, high-quality lighting effect.”

In the end, it remains to be seen whether Intel will officially release its first graphics card generation before Nvidia’s Ada/Lovelace or AMD’s RDNA 3 GPUs. The XeSS upscaling technology should also be launched in early summer, but August has already arrived and information is still missing.
