Spotify: New home screen introduces feeds for music and podcasts

from Rhonda Bachman
The streaming service Spotify recently announced an innovation for its home screen. This is intended to simplify navigating through favorites and discovering new music and podcasts. The two categories are now to be listed in separate feeds.

The streaming service Spotify is currently rolling out an update for the home screen. Users can now find music and podcasts on their home screen in separate feeds. The new feature is currently rolling out to Android users, but it’s set to roll out to iOS soon, the company said.

Users should be able to find the content they want faster

The new feature introduces new Music and Podcasts & Shows feeds. This should make it easier for users to scroll through exactly the type of content they are looking for. The new interface aims to make the experience even more personal and allow listeners to “dive even deeper into their recommendations”.

In the music feed, users will find faster access to suggestions for songs, albums or even playlists based on their own taste. These recommendations are designed to “make discovering new favorites easier than ever,” according to Spotify. Also, the music feed features new buttons to quickly like, share, or play the music.

The Podcasts & Shows feed is similar. In this feed, users can now jump more quickly to the new episodes of their favorite shows. Here, too, you will find personalized podcast recommendations based on your own preferences. You can also read episode descriptions, save episodes and start playing podcasts on the interface without even having to leave the page.
