WoW: 21 TBC Classic servers die today – new home causes resentment
Today, August 10, 2022, WoW: Burning Crusade Classic will see server consolidation. Or to put it another way: 21 servers that have too low a population are taken offline. Where are those affected going? Blizzard finally revealed that!
Already in the first week of June we reported that today, on August 10, 2022, Blizzard will launch a whole series of WoW: Burning Crusade Classic servers that have too low a population from the network. But just a few hours ago, Community Manager Kaivax im official forum of WoW known where the affected characters will be transferred to.
German servers are also affected
The list of the 21 realms also includes the four German servers Celebras, Dragon’s Call, Heartstriker and Lucifron. The shutdown of the RP server Celebras is particularly bitter. Firstly, because there is no longer any RP alternative for German-speaking players. Secondly, because the German RP community had to fight for months to even get a DE RP server for WoW Classic.
But it should also be bitter for the players of the other three servers, because Blizzard did not choose other German-speaking worlds as target servers, but the English realms Hydraxian Waterlords and Mograine. But see for yourself:
original realm | Destination Realm |
---|---|
Celebras | Hydraxian Waterlords |
Zandalar Tribe | Hydraxian Waterlords |
Bloodfang | mograine |
Dragon’s Call | mograine |
dragonfang | mograine |
dread crap | mograine |
finkle | mograine |
Flamelash | mograine |
gandling | mograine |
Harbinger of Doom | mograine |
heartstriker | mograine |
judgment | mograine |
Lucifron | mograine |
noggenfogger | mograine |
Razorgore | mograine |
Rhok’delar | mograine |
Shazzrah | mograine |
skull flame | mograine |
stonespine | mograine |
Ten Storms | mograine |
Wyrmthalak | mograine |
You can certainly imagine that many players in the official forum express their dissatisfaction now. Waiting until the last second to communicate and then sending players from all regions to just two English servers is simply wrong from the point of view of many of those affected.
If Blizzard acts similarly with the fresh start servers that are to come for TBC Classic, we will very likely only get realms for the “English” region here, and only find out parallel to the start of the pre-launch phase. Who bets against? And how do you rate the server consolidation? Tell us in the comments!
