Oops! In GTA Online, an old racing car is suddenly bulletproof

GTA Online Stirling Rifle

To the surprise of the community, a racing car in GTA Online is suddenly bulletproof that shouldn’t have received an upgrade in this form. Apparently a bug is responsible for this change, but it’s been in the game for 2 weeks.

Why is the car bulletproof? Nobody knows exactly why the car is now immune to shots. A lot has changed in the game since the big The Criminal Enterprises update on July 26th. There are many Quality of Life changes, new weapons and of course new cars. A seemingly random change makes the Stirling GT bulletproof. It is assumed that there is a bug that has been in the game since the release of the DLC.

We show you here what the bug looks like and where you can buy the car.

Benefactor Stirling GT now bulletproof

What car is that? The Benefactor Stirling GT has been in GTA Online since 2015. The racer is quite fast and can often be found in collector’s garages. With the Criminal Enterprises update in July, the Stirling GT got a few more options for visual adjustments. The car was accidentally bulletproof.

Players were quick to report this accidental change. We looked at this in-game on August 11th and can confirm that this condition is still active after today’s patch.

How to check? If you want to see whether the error is also active with your account, you can buy the Stirling from Legendary Motorsports. The car costs GTA$975,000 there and can be found in the 2-door category.

At first it was thought that a roll cage had to be installed for the bug to become active. However, the car is already bulletproof right out of the box. Drive it out of your garage, shoot it and find out.

This makes the car great for PvE missions where you have to shoot down a lot of enemies. Because a big advantage is the high speed of the Stirling GT.

However, a clear disadvantage arises during the missions of the vehicle warehouse. There it can happen that you have to procure the Stirling GT and shoot the driver out of the vehicle as part of the order. Since this is currently not working, you only increase the damage value that you have to pay for when the racing car is delivered. To get around this, you should clamp the Stirling GT in a suitable position and pull the NPC out of the car.

Will it stay like this forever? Hard to say. There have been similar bugs in GTA Online in the past. So the Karin Kuruma suddenly became bulletproof in its unarmored version. It seems to be a similar problem this time. After a few days, this bug was fixed on the Kuruma. It can be assumed that they are already working on a solution for the Stirling GT.
