Gamescom: According to Geoff Keighley, there are some "cool surprises" waiting for you

As the final preparations for Gamescom get underway, Geoff Keighleiy spoke up and said you’re in for a few unexpected surprises at Opening Night Live, Gamescom’s opening event hosted by Keighley.

Is it hotter than the Summer Game Fest?

More than 30 games will be shown at this showcase – this time live in Cologne and together with co-moderator Natascha Becker from GameStar. Due to Corona, the trade fair on site had to be canceled in the last two years.

As VGC reports, Keighley spoke about the event in a Twitter Spaces session. “More than 20 games will be on stage: it will be a great spectacle,” said the journalist and presenter. “We have some very cool guests who are also coming to Germany to join us on stage, revealing their games and presenting new content.”

Keighley doesn’t get specific

Some games for which it was still a bit too early at the Summer Game Fest will also be presented in Cologne. “We have a mix of games that have already been announced and a whole bunch of new games,” Keighley said.

“We have some good stuff. We haven’t really announced which companies will be there yet, but I think we have some cool surprises and things that I don’t think people would expect…” so the moderator. The two hours are filled with gameplay clips, trailers and announcements.

A lot will revolve around games that will not appear until 2023 or beyond. Still, Keighley thinks it will delight game fans. New material for Sonic Frontiers and Goat Simulator 3 has already been confirmed.
