The Witcher 4: Fan concept in Unreal Engine 5 shows impressive faces

The next installment in The Witcher series will use Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5. Accordingly, the expectations of the community are that the graphics will be simply phenomenal. A new video from a fan shows what the familiar characters from The Witcher could look like in Unreal Engine 5.

The new video from CG Adventures shows how characters from the series like Geralt von Rivia, Yennefer von Vengeberg and others will look like in the next part of the series. Some of the characters might look a bit unfamiliar, as the use of Metahuman in combination with Unreal Engine 5 left the fan developer with limited options for hairstyles, eyebrows, and eye color. Geralt in particular takes a lot of getting used to. Nevertheless, the facial expressions still look very impressive.

The video description reads: “As a huge fan of The Witcher 3 and CD Projekt Red’s announcement that the new installment of The Witcher will use UE5, I wanted to find out how The Witcher 3 characters might look like if they were Metahumans The new mesh-to-metahuman feature made it very easy to reference the Witcher 3 characters.Metahumans are currently limited to specific hairstyles, eyebrows, eye colors, and of course no scars, but I did my best for Geralt, Yennifer, Olgierd and Triss done.”

As already mentioned, the next part of The Witcher series will be based on Unreal Engine 5. CD Projekt Red confirmed that the switch was made from the RedEngine to have a solid base with stability and to stop chasing tools and features. The next part is currently under development – the platforms are still unknown.
