F1 Manager 2022: ‘Behind the Scenes’ series approaches the checkered flag and takes a look at the race weekends with motion capture footage

Frontier Developments plc unveils the fourth F1 Manager 2022 behind the scenes video of the big new officially licensed F1 management simulation game. F1 Manager 2022 will be available on August 30th (August 25th for pre-orders) for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Steam and the Epic Games Store.

In the fourth episode of the Behind the Scenes series – True to Form, players will meet Lead Mocap Specialist Tina Nischan and Lead Animator Tim West as they work to bring the paddock to life, creating an authentic, create true-to-life F1 experience in F1 Manager 2022.

Players are welcomed to the studio for a day immersing themselves in the emotions of F1 using stunning motion capture technology. From the celebration on the podium to the live reactions after a successful overtake, F1 Manager 2022 recreates the camera angles players are used to seeing live. Just as fans around the world see it in the most dramatic moments.

To achieve this, Frontier brought together a group of professional motion capture actors and used real F1 car components, adding even more depth and immersion to the action of the race weekend. In addition, Frontier manages to create an even more realistic F1 experience with car designs inspired by the 2022 rule changes, detailed circuits, audio from real team radios and 3D scans of all twenty F1 drivers in 2022.

Frontier has joined the BWT Alpine F1 team at Silverstone and worked with the pit crew to ensure key elements of a race weekend, such as key pit stops, are accurately replicated in-game. Fernando Alonso’s No.1 Mechanic, Jonny Goodenough, and Team Inspector Louise Turner speak to the team about their responsibilities at Alpine and the importance of pit stops for track success.

In F1 Manager 2022, a well-organized pit stop, like in real sport, can mean the difference between success and disappointment. Players must plan tactically and be ready to adjust their strategy on the fly. They are also required to invest in their race engineers and manage their pit crew’s training focus to minimize the risk of error.

F1 Manager 2022 will be available on August 30 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at a suggested retail price of €54.99. Players who want to stay ahead of the competition can pre-order the game digitally and experience F1 Manager 2022 five days early, starting August 25. The game is also available in physical format for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at a suggested retail price of €54.99.
