WoW: Gold dupes and missing items? Auction house bug warning

from Susan Brown
With the release of WoW Patch 9.2.7 on August 17, 2022, players noticed more problems with the auction house in WoW. With the update, the cross-region auction house in Azeroth was activated and the AH can also be used remotely again via the companion app. Gold dupes and gold and item losses have been reported for days. Blizzard has now commented on this.

With WoW Patch 9.2.7, the WoW developers brought the cross-region auction house into play and also made it possible again to access auctions via the WoW Companion App – but not without problems. Since the release of the update, players have reported an increasing number of errors, including auctions from other players that appear in their own listings.

A player writes that the gold from his auctions suddenly disappeared. Others speak of duped gold, i.e. gold that has been duplicated (and thus harming the entire economy), others of items that have disappeared. Apparently there is a serious duping problem that has been affecting the WoW economy significantly for four days.

Blizzard is troubleshooting

In the official WoW forums confirmed community manager Kaivax now that there is a problem with invalid auctions. He writes: “We are aware of an error which is causing some items to get stuck in invalid listings. It is a priority for us to fix this issue but it is expected to take 2-3 more days. We will keep you informed as soon as the solution is available.”
