Battlefield 2042: Class System returns with Season 3

DICE has announced that it will bring the well-known class system back to Battlefield 2042.

However, you still need patience for this. The studio is currently preparing for Season 2, but the class system can only be expected in Season 3.

A response to feedback

Of course, DICE is already thinking about the time after Season 2 and here too the preparations are already underway.

According to the developers, the return of the class system is in response to feedback on the “polarizing” specialists in Battlefield 2042.

“Earlier this year we assembled a team to analyze the feedback we received,” says producer Alexia Christofi. “We are now ready to talk about the future of specialists and the classification system.”

“The introduction of Specialists in Battlefield 2042 has been polarizing. We heard you, so in Season 3 we will be bringing Specialists into the classic and familiar Battlefield class system. They will have traits available to all Specialists within a given class , with existing face-up gadgets and throwables split between classes to suit their role.”

“Our first consideration is that split, but that’s just the beginning of the discussion about it. We want to hear more from you. Specialists aren’t being removed from Battlefield 2042, but this evolution that ties them to the class system is one that we’re excited about know that many of you have asked for it.”

“This is a significant change on the development side, so we’re taking the time to get it right. So we’re going to bring it into Season 3.”

Season 2 in Battlefield 2042 is expected to start in early September. Information on this will follow soon.
