High on Life is going to be a real trip – New trailer at Opening Night Live

Rick and Morty creator Justin Roiland has shared new insights into High on Life. The wild sci-fi shooter made an appearance at Gamescom 2022.

Cologne – If Justin Roiland is on it, there is certainly a lot of nonsense in it. The co-creator of Rick and Morty is working with his new studio Squanch Games on his own shooter called High on Life, which now has a new appearance at Gamescom 2022. The insane sci-fi shooter made an appearance with new gameplay at Opening Night Live, where the team featured a new boss fight and lots of wacky humor.

What does the trailer show? In the new gameplay, Justin Roiland shows his usual bottomless side. After Squanch Games had already presented first insights into the story and the gameplay at the Summer Game Fest, this time it’s all about the shooter mechanics and the wild guns with which you will shoot around you in High on Life. Not only will they take care of letting your opponents bite the dust, they will also share their own opinions on what’s going on with you.

The big kicker about High on Life is that each weapon is actually an extraterrestrial being that converses with you at will. In the trailer, you can see your pistol engaging in a verbal exchange with your knife, all while slashing at a boss with your knife. It’s all oozing with Justin Roiland’s usual absurdist humor, but it looks a lot of fun.

Squanch Games will also be present at the show with High on Life during the rest of Gamescom 2022, where you can see the alien shooter for yourself before the game is released on December 13, 2022.
