The indie developer passed away a few weeks ago Rob Hale aka Squid In A Box from the effects of cancer. One of his last wishes was that his games waves and Waves 2: Notorious be made available free of charge. His life partner CJ shared this on behalf of Squid In A Box in a forum post on Steam about a week ago and made Rob’s wish come true. Waves 2: Notorious was still in Early Access status at the time and, according to CJ, will unfortunately no longer be able to be completed.

CJ went on to say that Hale had been considering the free gift for the last two months before his death. It should also be a farewell gift to all those who have not yet come into contact with the two games. He hopes that interested players will enjoy the games that Hale wholeheartedly created and improved as the sole developer.
