Village romance on Switch: Release for one of my favorite relaxation games is set
village romance was released last year in early access for the PC and quickly turned out to be one of the biggest German game surprises in recent years. The full version of the relaxed strategy title from the Berlin studio Toukana Interactive has been available since April 2022, and in a few weeks the surprise hit will finally make it onto the Nintendo Switch.
When is Village Romance coming to Nintendo Switch?
What’s new? The Switch version of Village Romance brings with it an additional Cherry Blossom biome with new architecture and landscapes.

Dorfromantik – The strategy surprise from Germany in the trailer
Village Romance is a building game with minimalistic gameplay, which combines strategy and puzzle elements. Similar to the popular board game Carcassonne, we build a village with idyllic surroundings by placing cards next to each other. In Dorfromantik, however, the cards are six-sided, i.e. hexagons.
If we combine suitable hexagons with each other (e.g. forest to forest, or river to river), we will be rewarded with more points and thus set a personal high score. For additional points, we can also complete several quests during a game, for example by building a particularly large village with many houses.
Our village always looks a little different in each game because we receive the cards randomly. The lively building is accompanied by relaxed music, which puts us in a Zen mode after a short time when laying the hexagons.
In theory, the simple controls should be great for the Nintendo Switch, but of course it remains to be seen how the whole thing will play out in practice.
