Saints & Sinners Chapter 2 – Hearty zombie hacking in VR
The Walking Dead: Sinners & Saints enters the next round. At Gamescom 2022 we were already able to try out the second chapter of the VR action.
Cologne – The zombie genre may have passed its prime several times, but The Walking Dead has bravely continued to wave the flag for the undead for years. After comics, series, adventure games and countless other outings, the franchise has recently found a home on VR headsets, where fans of the series can get closer to the undead than ever before. Skydance Interactive is now continuing the series with The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution, which we were already able to get an idea of at Gamescom 2022.

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners Chapter 2 – A little more of everything
Skydance Interactive doesn’t call the successor to The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners Chapter 2 without reason. The new part follows on from its predecessor and lets you continue as the “tourist” through post-apocalyptic New Orleans. Anyone who has played the first part should already have a rough idea of what to expect: navigating the Walker-infested city, looking for resources and, if possible, not being overwhelmed by the countless undead.
A big kicker about The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2 is the titular choice system, which will affect your progression through the game’s story. Again and again the VR shooter will present you with important decisions, in both main and side quests. Secondary characters can die and prevent your further progress through various questlines, in extreme cases you can even lend a hand and kill off any NPCs on your own – if you can agree with yourself.
In addition, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2 will be more of what you already saw in the predecessor. The focus here is primarily on themore“: Retribution wants to offer you more weapons, more zombies and more playing time. How you approach each mission is up to you, as long as the walkers don’t outnumber you – that’s when you panic. Some armored specimens require their own unique approach, and once they start appearing in larger groups, the shift in the shaft can quickly become a thing of the past. It’s stupid if the equipped assault rifle also blocks it.
The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2 is scheduled for release in 2022 for PSVR and common VR headsets on the PC, and a version for the new PSVR2 of the PS5 is also planned for next year.
