Manufacturers regularly bring new products onto the market in order to convince gamers or other consumers to spend money. At the CES 2022, the most important trade fair for consumer electronics, Samsung presented a unique monitor.

The device is huge and is called “Odyssey Ark”. At CES 2022, journalists and gamers were impressed by the Samsung monitor. Now you can finally pre-order the device, but the price is quite high.

Gaming monitor costs 3,500 euros and makes gamers’ fears come true

What kind of device is that anyway? The new monitor from Samsung is a 55-inch monitor that uses 4K UHD. Samsung also uses Quantum Mini LEDs for the display. On top of that, the display is curved, with 1000R. According to Samsung, this strong curvature should come closest to the human eye.

What is special, however, is that you can rotate the monitor by 90 degrees. Samsung calls this “Cockpit Mode.” In this way, the monitor in front of you on the desk looks much larger and bulkier. At the presentation, some users called it a spaceship.

There is also a remote control that can be used to change the orientation of the windows on the display or the screen resolution. With such a large monitor, at least you don’t have to worry about buying a second monitor for your setup.

What were gamers afraid of? When the monitor was presented, many users had already suspected that the new monitor from Samsung would not be exactly cheap. At the time, someone explained that he would buy the monitor immediately if the price did not exceed 2000 US dollars.

With a purchase price of 3,500 euros, however, the price is well above its pain threshold and many other users will probably see it similarly.

You need strong hardware if you want to use such a monitor

If you really want to gamble on such a monitor and not just do office work, then you need correspondingly powerful hardware. It has to be a GeForce RTX 3080 or an RTX 3090 if you want to take advantage of the 4K resolution.
