Sony unveils new PS5 Pro controller DualSense Edge

The PlayStation 5 gets a pro controller. The DualSense Edge can be customized in a variety of ways. According to Sony, PS5 players can use the Pro Controller to create their own personal controller experience.

Almost two years after the release of the PlayStation 5 the PS5 family is growing. In addition to the standard DualSense controller, gamers can soon look forward to the DualSense Edge. The Pro Controller offers quite a lot hardware and software based customization options for the perfect gaming experience.

Profiles for individual settings

The wireless DualSense Edge offers plenty of customization options. Certain keys can be deactivated or completely reassigned. Gamers can adjust the sensitivity of the sticks and triggers according to their taste. This ensures that the keys react faster and more precisely in racing games or shooters, for example.

The personal settings can be saved in different profiles. Using the new Fn key, gamers can quickly switch back and forth between the settings in the game. The Fn key can also be used to control the Sgame volume and chat balance can be adjusted.

Interchangeable stick caps, back buttons and stick modules

With the new DualSense Edge, gamers even have the option to swap out the stick caps and back buttons. The embroidery caps say “Standard”, “high round cap” and “low round cap” to choose from. The two back buttons (semicircular and lever back button) of the wireless controller can also be exchanged and configured individually. In addition, each individual stick module of the controller can be completely exchanged. The modules will be offered separately by Sony at a later date.

Furthermore, the new PS5 Pro controller has the same features as the DualSense on board: including haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, integrated microphone and motion controls. It is still unclear when the new PS5 Pro controller will be launched. In addition to the release, there is also a big question mark behind the price.
