The big gamescom 2022 live blog – see what’s happening at what’s still the biggest games fair

Everything is a little different at gamescom this year. We are in year one after the Corona pandemic – so actually we are right in the middle of it, but for the moment we have all decided to ignore it a little – and after two canceled years all halls in Cologne are open again. Except that everything isn’t the same as usual. Sony and Nintendo – and thus two-thirds of the console manufacturers – have probably canceled with thanks. Activision and EA, which otherwise in good years almost claimed a hall for themselves, are not there. Many others also absent.

What’s left?
