Sony buys a mobile studio – soon PS5 games for mobile phones?

Those in charge of Sony have today in playstation blog announced that there is another acquisition in the video game sector. So the company has actively strengthened itself for the mobile area concerned. From now on the team belongs to the Savage Game Studios to the Playstation family. Founded in 2020 by Mikhail Katkoff, Nadjim Adjir and Michael McManus, Savage Game Studios is co-founded Berlin and Helsinki currently at two locations.

Playstation games coming to mobile soon?

The intention behind the acquisition is that Playstation audience with projects for iOS and Android. It is not yet known which brands will receive a mobile implementation in the future. However, it has already been confirmed that Savage Game Studios is currently working on a “new unannounced premium action game with live service” work. In the Playstation Blog, Sony also assures that the mobile initiatives no influence on console projects will have.

New mobile division at PlayStation

In order to make it clear that console and mobile will operate independently at Sony, today’s acquisition presented the Playstation Studios Mobile Division that will focus on games for iOS and Android – and will rely on well-known Playstation brands. The Savage Game Studios team is now part of the new mobile department at Sony. How much money will be paid for the takeover has not yet been made public.
