Then the servers for the update are offline: Wherever there is an update for Fortnite, server maintenance is usually not far away. Before each new patch for the game, the servers are down for a few hours while Epic Games does their usual maintenance. The downtime usually lasts three hours.
- Server down: August 30, at 10 a.m. German time
- Servers back online: Around 12-1 p.m. German time
So you can’t access the servers at the moment because the maintenance is in full swing. Traditionally, you should be able to log back into Fortnite normally at noon, but no later than 1 p.m. We’re updating this article to keep you up to date.
How big is the new update in Fortnite? The new patch 21.50 is a little over 2 gigabytes in size. On the PS5 you need about 2.3 GB of space on the hard drive. You can download the update during downtime and start playing as soon as the servers are back online.
