House of the Dragon Episode 2: Did you catch this Easter Egg?
The Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon, has been out for a few days now. In the meantime, the second episode of the series has already been published, which also includes the opening sequence of the series for the first time. This is very reminiscent of the opening of Game of Thrones itself, but instead of a map, this time we get to see the Targaryen family tree painted in blood.
Exciting Easter Egg in House of the Dragon
There are, of course, many theories as to exactly what this sequence means. For example, the blood could refer to the Targaryens’ “Fire and Blood” spell. In the opening, however, the various symbols of the characters are also shown. For example, Aegon the Conqueror, the founder of the Targaryen Dynasty on the Iron Throne. The last symbol we see in the opening logically belongs to Rhaenyra, which currently represents the end of the family tree.
As a few resourceful viewers discovered, the design of her symbol can also be found on the necklace given to her by Daemon Targaryen in the first episode of the new show. Daemon and Rhaenyra’s relationship isn’t exactly easy, and it will definitely be interesting to see how the two characters develop as the series progresses. Thanks to this Easter egg, we at least know that the two are probably quite close despite all the complications.
If you want to know what symbols represent the other characters in the series, the GoT Facts Twitter account has it perfect video ready for you. With this you are perfectly prepared when the third episode of House of the Dragon is released in a few days. The first season is said to have ten episodes.
