RX-7000 Showcase Lies of P: New Soulslike fodder for Bloodborne fans

PC gamers have wanted a title like Bloodborne playable on their platform for years. Of course there was the Dark Souls series, Sekiro or most recently Elden Ring. But only Lies of P by Neowiz could now capture the right mood and, as souls-like, also provide the appropriate setting and gameplay. The game deals with the well-known motifs of the story of Pinocchio.

Lies of P: That looks like Bloodborne!

Lies of P made a big appearance during Gamescom Opening Night Live (but also at the RX-7000 presentation), where the developers released a new trailer and revealed the release year 2023. The trailer provided new insights into the Soulslike gameplay. At first glance, the setting can also be particularly impressive. Lies of P is set in the gloomy town of Krat, which has been overcome by madness and bloodlust as its residents are being slaughtered by mechanical creatures. It’s all captured in a fascinating turn-of-the-century Belle Époque aesthetic. The player takes on the role of the mechanical puppet Pinocchio, who must find Master Geppetto in order to attain his humanity.

The well-known lying motif of the classic Pinocchio story will also play an important role in Lies of P, after all this is already hinted at in the game title. The procedural quests of the story are based on the lies and decisions of Pinocchio and shape the further development of the story. In order to be able to survive against the numerous enemies, you combine weapons in ever new constellations. Pinocchio’s non-human body can also be modified to learn new skills in battle. Lies of P is scheduled for release in 2023 for PC, Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X and since there was already a play station at Microsoft at Gamescom, the title was advertised there as a Game Pass game.
