WoW: The last really awesome WoW expansion came out six years ago

WoW: Dragonflight: 16 strong talent revisions for the priest (1)

from Sebastian Glanzer
Happy belated, WoW: Legion! The expansion was released almost six years ago and despite its weaknesses, after BfA and Shadowlands, we long for an expansion like Legion back. Maybe Dragonflight can follow in the footsteps of WoW’s sixth expansion in terms of quality.

World of Warcraft’s sixth expansion, Legion, was released on August 30, 2016. Six years later, we’re still reminiscing about the last really good WoW expansion. Of course, Legion also had its weaknesses, but overall the addon was and became a success repeatedly celebrated in polls as one of the better WoW expansions.

Legion may have been so successful because it played on the fanbase’s nostalgia. Iconic Warcraft figures like Illidan, Gul’dan and even Sargeras in the end were in the foreground of the lush lore, which often made us shed a tear. Legion claimed some important lives from well-loved characters like Tirion Fordring and Varian Wrynn, who stars in the expansion’s cinematic trailer. It was noticeable that the developers had a lot of time to concentrate on the successor Legion after a missing patch for the predecessor expansion WoD.

Legion highlights

Order halls
Classes took center stage in Legion and were given their own sanctuary with lots of lore, quests and small events.

The Demon Hunter
After the death knight and the monk, the demon hunter came into play as the third new class. Today, players still enjoy the agile playstyle with double jump and gliding.

artifact weapons
Not having to farm weapons anymore was a blessing. The grind for artifact power at the beginning of the expansion, like the hunt for random legendaries, was also a negative aspect of Legion.

Mythic Plus
Legion brought some dungeon content that would follow, and likely continue to exist, for the rest of WoWs (buy now ) Term should become essential. For the first time, the Mythic Plus feature allowed dungeons to be mastered at higher levels of difficulty and loot to be looted, which was also useful for the raid.
