Gran Turismo 7: Update 1.21 released and which problems are currently known

After a new update with cars and more last week, the new update 1.21 for Gran Turismo 7 is now available for download.

It’s a minor update that addresses two specific issues in Polyphony Digital’s racing game.

What changes with update 1.21?

Here are the patch notes for the new update 1.21 for Gran Turismo 7:

  • Fixed an issue where the tire wear rate was too fast making it difficult to complete the “Bathurst Gr.3 Battle” in [Missionen] > [The Sun Also Rises] to end.
  • Fixed an issue where the game could not continue after advancing to the next round while playing some license demonstration videos.

List of known issues in Gran Turismo 7

At the same time, the list of currently known issues has also been updated. These are “probably” to be fixed with future updates.

Sports & Lobby

  • When playing Free Practice on Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya – Rallycross layout, stopping the car with the handbrake and then pausing the game with the controller option button will cause the car to stop moving forward. This issue can be resolved by selecting “Exit” from the pause menu and re-entering the track.
  • garage

    • Changing the exhaust from the “Intake and Exhaust” category in “Garage” > “Car Settings” can make the exhaust disappear on the car. Should this happen, the error can be resolved by re-entering the “garage”.

    multiplayer

    • There were cases in the lobby where the host could not start the race even though the screen said “Preparing”. When all room members leave and re-enter the room, the race can be started.
    • There were instances in the lobby where you can’t drive and are taken straight to the main race if you head onto a track in practice. In this case, please try to leave the room and re-enter it.
    • In a 2-player split-screen race, driver assistance settings are locked for player 2. We plan to fix this bug in a future update. (Player 1 uses the driver assistance settings set under [Einstellungen] -> [Fahrhilfe-Einstellungen] are listed.)
    • In the lobby, there were cases where players in the same room would not appear in the member list or in the race. In this case, an application error occurs when the host tries to start the race.
    • There were cases in the lobby where users could not progress further after completing a race.

    Other

    • There have been instances where the game would get stuck on the loading screen after launch, as well as rare instances where it would crash when joining certain race events. Uninstalling and reinstalling Gran Turismo 7 may resolve these issues. Please note that if you uninstall the game, all replays, scapes photos and race photos not shared in the presentation room will be lost. (To share replays, their size must be 200MB or less.)
