Spoilers: There are some bangers again!

Game trio for Essential customers

From September 6, 2022 to October 3, 2022, all Essential customers can get the following three games at no additional cost:

  • Need for Speed Heat | PS4: In the Review of Need for Speed: Heat colleague David wrote almost three years ago: “The last racing game offshoots from Ghost Games didn’t necessarily convince me and the game event left me with mixed feelings. The finished game turned out surprisingly whimsical though. Sure, the story is once again not worth mentioning, the controls are pretty arcadian and in terms of driving physics and damage model, the makers didn’t take realism that seriously. However, if you don’t mind that, or if you are looking for exactly that, you will really enjoy Heat. Otherwise, the title offers everything a car’s heart desires: extensive tuning options, action-packed chases and thrilling races – and all of that with top graphics.
  • Granblue Fantasy: Versus | PS4: Granblue Fantasy: Versus features diverse fighters with different fighting styles and an RPG mode with a brand new original story. Play alone or with a friend in exciting action RPG battles against hordes of enemies.
  • Tome | PS5: Embark on an enchanting journey and discover all mysteries with your photographic eye in this hand-drawn adventure game. Chat with fun characters and help them solve their problems by snapping great photos as you roam the relaxing landscape.

New additions to Extra and Premium

Starting September 20th, the following titles will expand the Extra and Premium Libraries:

  • deathloop | PS5: In the Deathloop review Andi wrote almost a year ago: “I’m sorry, but Deathloop is a truly wasted opportunity. The game could have been a brilliant mix of Hades, Hitman and Outer Wilds thanks to its elaborate setting, open-world approach to match, and a dash of roguelite. But last In the end, Arkane Studios didn’t dare enough and the design was far too conventional apart from the good puzzles.I don’t have a large playground available in which I can let off steam, but an ordinary first-person shooter that constantly takes me by the hand Whilst it’s fun at the best moments when I’m exploring new locations and working out solutions to the awesome puzzles, it’s all the more frustrating the umpteenth time I’m traveling between two locations that the enemy AI is hopelessly overwhelmed or Julianna is back on the mat less than half an hour after her last death.Because the bottom line was that the game was more fun than trouble for me, she’s just about there ben points. But Deathloop’s potential would have had what it takes to be a Game of the Year contender.”

  • Assassin’s Creed Origins | PS4: Colleague Peter summarized his enthusiasm in the Review of Assassin’s Creed: Origins together as follows: “Assassin’s Creed successfully reinvents itself with Origins. I really liked Black Flag, despite the dramatic changes compared to the rest of the series. The new Egypt adventure is similarly radical in its reorientation – and similarly grandiose! Incidentally, I am very grateful to Ubisoft for the fact that Origins does not have attached multiplayer features and the notorious loot boxes. You don’t have to pant after every trend! The new Assassin’s Creed shows that the industry still has room for excellent, massive AAA, solo-focused entertainment, standing proudly alongside such popular titles as Horizon: Zero Dawn and The Witcher 3. Personally, I miss it only a few choices during the entertainingly written quests and more variety in the tasks, then ACO would have cracked the 90!”

  • Watch Dogs 2 | PS4: Christian wrote in Review of Watch Dogs 2: “In the first third of the game, I found Watch Dogs 2 downright confusing at times. The missions don’t seem to be related, the characters aren’t properly introduced, and the new hacking skills are poorly explained. But after a while I really enjoyed the title. The setting is great, the music is great and some highlight missions made you want more. It didn’t bother me that much anymore that the characters are hyper hipster anarcho kiddies. Unfortunately, Watch Dogs 2 also makes unnecessary small mistakes everywhere and leaves a lot of potential.
