World of WarCraft Classic: Chaos in Wrath of the Lich King with new party finder tool

It was originally intended to help you, but unfortunately the controversial LFG tool from World of Warcraft Classic: Wrath of the Lich King is causing a lot of chaos in the beta.

The tool failed in the beta

While everything used to be better, Blizzard has decided to bring you a new feature in Wrath of the Lich King that wasn’t there 14 years ago. In a preparatory patch, the developer not only introduced the death knight class, but also implemented the group finder tool.

The tool is intended to help players find other players so that they can form larger groups with appropriate classes. This means that the LFG chat channel does not have to be used for every request and remains clearer. And where is the promised chaos now?

Well, unfortunately, Blizzard didn’t quite succeed in implementing the tool as well as they would have liked. As some players report on Reddit, the tool sometimes assigns incorrect roles. It is particularly common for players to appear as tanks who are actually playing healers or DPS. So it happens that other healers and DPS end up in groups full of tanks, but they can’t tank at all.

In addition, the interface for raids will be changed for the tank role, which can become a real problem for healers, since they have to keep an eye on the life points of all players.

Players are annoyed

Blizzard wanted to keep the roles open regardless of your class, so you have room to communicate and experiment. Unfortunately, that decision is now backfiring. Since the tool creates more confusion than order, the chat is full again and anyone who uses the group finder can lose a lot of time and nerves.

The tool is already being used in several Reddit threads discussed and heavily criticized. As it stands, it doesn’t differentiate between solo players and existing groups, nor does it update automatically. It is also possible to spam invitations to groups, even if they are not looking for their own role.

“The new LFG tool is just a prettier but less customizable LFG bulletin board,” Reddit user ZGaidin said in the thread. Nothing has really improved the group search in Burning Crusade. These problems had been known for a long time, because they were officially announced in mid-August Blizzard Forum discussed. Let’s just hope Blizzard gets the tool’s problems under control before it launches alongside Wrath of the Lich King on September 27th.
