The Xbox Elite Series 2 Core can do that

The Xbox Elite Series 2 Core Controller, which is kept in a plain white, is a slimmed down version of the conventional, black Elite Controller at a small price. Instead of going on sale with a recommended retail price of 180 euros, the core controller only costs 130 euros. However, you have to do without an extensive accessory package. This includes:

  • Interchangeable switches on the back of the controller
  • Additional analog sticks with different cambers and lengths
  • A standard directional pad
  • A tote bag
  • A charging mount

The Xbox Elite Series 2 Core comes with just a USB-C charging cable and a small tool for adjusting the voltage on the sticks. If you want to enjoy the full scope, you have to buy an additional component pack, which will cost 60 euros.

The video highlights the features you can count on. Among other things, the trigger paths can be shortened and different control profiles can be saved. The handles are rubberized for better grip. In addition, the great controller app can also be used with the Core model to make numerous fine adjustments – for example with regard to the dead zones of the analog sticks.

The back of the Series 2 Core is quite empty, the pedals are unfortunately not part of the scope of delivery.

Long durability:
Microsoft mentioned in the Xbox Elite Series 2 Core press releasethat all components – including those of the black elite controller – are more robust than in the past. By the way, the battery life is absolutely impressive at 40 hours, hopefully it will last for a while.

The Xbox Elite Series 2 Core will be released on September 21st and is compatible with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One X|S and PC (via Bluetooth, cable or the Xbox Wireless Adapter). However, it could also be worth waiting a little longer if you would rather order a customized model. The Xbox Elite Series 2 will be part of in the coming months Xbox Design Labwhere you can create your own color combinations.

Does the entry-level model appeal to you or is the normal, black controller enough for you?
