LoL player cheats his way into the final – video charges him as a cheater

Serious allegations against a “League of Legends” player. He is said to have cheated in an official German tournament. You only notice it before the finale.

Berlin – Cheating is frowned upon in multiplayer video games. While cheats are used for entertainment in games like GTA, they tend to cause headaches in games like League of Legends. Now there is said to be a player in an official German e-sports tournament who cheats. We report on the allegations and the possible consequences.

LoL player is accused of being a scripter – Incriminating video shows questionable game scenes

What happened? In gaming, “cheater” calls quickly become loud. One of the best Warzone streamers is accused of cheating. Videos of a LoL player who is said to be cheating in the current Prime Super Cup have now appeared. This is a tournament hosted by the Prime League. All teams from Division 1 and 2 have the chance to take part in the tournament, and a few teams from Division 3 are also allowed to play. The purpose of the tournament is for players to compete and present themselves with the big names in League of Legends e-sports.

These are the allegations: Currently there is said to be an unpleasant incident, because a player is accused of scripting. Scripting is the term for cheating in the League of Legends scene. The accusation comes from high-ranking LoL player Lilium. He posted a video on Twitter in which the midlaner Gap is supposed to be transferred as a scripter.

According to Lilium, Gap uses a script to evade skillshots. In the approximately 6-minute video, he shows several game scenes from the player’s competitive matches as evidence, in which he shows very suspicious movements. In order to make the situation visible to untrained eyes, the key scenes are explained in the video description.

There is more to it: Scripting alone is not the only problem that the situation poses. The team the player is playing for (404 Multigaming eV) has in the Preliminary round of the Prime Super Cup already played four games and qualified for a final. So if the allegations are true, it could mean that the team has to be disqualified.

LoL players accused of being scripters – reactions are not long in coming

These are the reactions: After the clip was widely shared on Twitter, outrage spread in the community. In the comments below the tweet, the player’s team – 404 Multigaming eV – and the Prime League have now also spoken out.

• 404 Multigaming eV writes: “We take these allegations very seriously and are investigating.“
• Prime League writes: “Our tournament admins are aware of the situation and are taking care of it.”

This is happening now: Exactly what the next steps will be remains to be seen. 404 Multigaming eV, the Prime League and the accused player himself have not yet responded to inquiries. If the allegations are true, the community can only hope that the official side will act faster than in the case of Destiny 2. There, cheaters destroyed a raid and Bungie did nothing.
