Microsoft: Announces cheaper version of the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller

Since March, fans have been puzzling over the images of a new Xbox Elite Controller Series 2. This is white with a black coating for better grip. The previous elite controllers from Microsoft always came in a black design. Recently there was even a video for the new controller, which Microsoft had not yet commented on. But now the cat is out of the bag and the company reveals what the new input device is all about.

Stripped down elite controller at a lower price

The unusual controller is the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – Core. It’s a stripped down version of the already available Elite controller, which will be available at a lower price of 129.99 from 9/21. Euro should be available – including in the Xbox Amazon Store. The core controller should offer all the advantages of the elite controller, but with fewer extras than the more expensive version. The core controller comes with a thumbstick adjustment tool and a USB-C cable.

The previously available Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 is quite a bit more expensive, but it comes with a few extras. In addition to the thumbstick adjustment tool and the USB-C cable, which are also included with the core controller, the more expensive controller comes with a dock, four paddles, additional thumbsticks, an additional D-pad and a case storage equipped. The entire package can also cost Microsoft 179.99 euros.

If you opt for the cheaper core controller first, but later want to benefit from the other extras of the more expensive Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, you can do that too. Microsoft has also announced the Complete Component Pack for 59.99 euros. This gives the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – Core all the extras that are also included with the more expensive Elite controller.
