Dwarven Skykeep soon on Steam: tower building with wizards and dwarves in pixel graphics

from Oliver Jaeger
It won’t be long before “Dwarven Skykeep”, a base building game with a cute pixel look, appears. In the indie title from Hack The Publisher, players take on the role of a magician who has to build a tower with the help of dwarves and protect it from enemies, fires and floods.

Meanwhile, building games in pixel art style seem to delight users on Steam. It is not for nothing that such a strategy simulation is on the table with “Dwarf Fortress”. 16th rank of the most wanted games on the distribution platform. A game with a similar design is due to appear on Steam later this quarter, which is called “Dwarven Skykeep” and revolves around base building.

The magician and his tower

The game with pixel graphics is produced by the still unknown developer “Hack The Publisher” and distributed by Ravenage Games. The developer has come up with an interesting concept for Dwarven Skykeep and placed the setting in a medieval mythical world à la Middle-earth. In the indie title, the player slips into the role of a magician who has to build a tower to demonstrate his power. Dwarves rush to the magician’s aid, and you have to keep them happy with the beer they produce.

According to the manufacturer, in order for the construction of the tower to succeed, players must draw cards that are needed to set up and defend the tower as well as to create tools, weapons and magic. As can be seen from the description on Steam, Dwarven Skykeep requires the player’s problem-solving skills. The tower must not only be built, but also defended against threats. This includes attacking goblins and other enemies, fires, and invading floodwaters.

Between levels, players can also visit a dwarf town where they can listen to stories. Quests and new parts of the game world should then be unlocked through the gained experience content. Players collect new cards, rewards, and items to help the strategy.
