Professionals lose 300,000 euros in the World Cup final due to mistakes
The battle royale shooter Warzone keeps fighting bugs. Just such a blunder ends a $300,000 final for some pros.

The final of the World Series for North America has now taken place in Warzone, with several professional teams losing due to game errors. Activision refused to restart matches despite error codes through no fault of their own. The Star Players are devastated and have a wish for Warzone 2.
Warzone players busted out in $300,000 tournament – pros devastated

2 top teams are fighting with dev errors in the final:
- Professional Aydan followed right at the start of the round because of a game error. It wasn’t his fault. The star player immediately asked promoter Activision to restart the Warzone match.
- Activision took a few minutes to deliberate, but then came to the conclusion: the match was not restarted, the trio was one man down in the final.
- Professional ZLaner from OpTic was also knocked out in his final match. It was again an error message that kicked him straight out of Warzone. ZLaner caught it mid-lap, again the team was a duo instead of three.
If you have played Warzone yourself, you have certainly already become acquainted with the nasty dev errors and corresponding false reports, against which you are simply powerless. Even in the new Warzone Season 5, years after the release, a lot is still going wrong.
This is how the tournament went: Due to the mistakes in the game, both teams could not prevail in the final. Aydan’s team was fourth on points (51 kills). The OpTic Zlaner trio even ended up in 12th place (44 kills). 1st place and $300,000 went to Skullface, Mayapoo and Hisoka with a proud 80 kills in all 5 tournament rounds.
Warzone 2 needs an important feature – CoD professionals comment after Finale
This is what the pros say after the climb: Aydan begged for a restart right after the match started and his immediate disconnect. When Activision refused, he expressed himself visibly broken live in the stream: “I’m really very depressed. The money is rather unimportant, I worry about my colleagues. I know it means a lot to them and it hurts that I can’t be there for the last game“.
OpTic Zlaner is far less emotional, but has one important wish for Warzone 2:
He wants the successor to Warzone to get a reconnect feature. Unfortunately, anyone who is currently thrown out of a round – for whatever reason – cannot go back. Other shooters have had such a reconnect function for years.
Warzone 2 will be released in 2022, leaks have limited the release date to one month after Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. A former CoD developer doesn’t give Warzone 2 a chance and complains that the game is dead after months anyway.
