Another MMORPG dies in 2022 - Get a new class before that

The first MMORPG of the year died in January. Since then, things have not gone well for many genre representatives this year. Now it has also caught the steampunk MMORPG Elyon. We at MeinMMO have this and other news of the week for you in the weekly review.

The highlights of the week:

  • The MMORPG Broken Ranks is an insider tip for many. Now the developers are showing what will come into play in 2023. The story is continued and a new maximum level is planned.
  • RuneScape is one of the most popular MMORPGs out there. The title is now getting a major graphic update, but this doesn’t go entirely smoothly.
  • EVE Online announced the next major update, Uprising, for November. Above all, this should make the faction wars revised and more exciting (via massivelyop.com).

The excitement of the week: As the next MMORPG in 2022, Elyon announces that it will close on December 7th. The game was only released in October 2021. Until then, however, the planned content should continue to be published. Even the new class will appear in September.

The discussion of the week: The servers in WoW Classic are too full. To counter the long queues, Blizzard is now closing some realms to new players. Possibly even permanently.

You can find out everything you need to know about the dying Elyon in this video:

  • New World got the biggest update so far with Brimestone Sands, but unfortunately not that many players are returning.
  • ArcheAge is getting a new PvPvE mode with the next update in September. That’s happening as part of the “festival,” which focuses on food (via massivelyop.com).
  • Star Trek Online brings Wesley Crusher to the MMO. He’s played by fan-favorite Wil Wheaton (via mmorpg.com).
  • VR MMORPG Zenith: The Last City opens its test server for the latest patch. It brings new accessibility options and costumes (via mmorpg.com).
